Day 3

“Keep going. You’re already in pain. You’re already hurting. Might as well get a reward for it.”

This is something I have to constantly remind myself when I’m feeling tired in the middle of a set. I’ve already pushed myself this far and I’m feeling the pain, so why not keep going for a few more reps and finish off strong. There’s nothing I regret more than giving up on a workout because of some mild discomfort, then realizing 5 minutes later that if I had just pushed through I would be done by now. Always push yourself past your comfort zone and you’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish.

Today I woke up definitely feeling the soreness from my ab workout yesterday and let me tell you, I love it! I know my muscles got worked last night and they’re recovering today and rebuilding and there’s no greater feeling. I just keep in mind that a month from now my body will look better and I’ll feel better if I keep this up and that alone keeps me motivated to go the gym and workout and eat healthy.

Do not wait to start! You don’t want to look back a month from now and regret not working out. Time will continue to move and it’s what you do during that time that will matter. Everyone gets the same 24 hours a day. Sure some of our schedules are busier than others, but manage your time and find those 20 minutes to knock out a few exercises, even basic ones (crunches, push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, body-weight squats, body-weight lunges.) It doesn’t have to be complicated it just has to work for you. Working out isn’t hard, you just have to stop making excuses and make it a priority. Once you do that, millions of exercise ideas will come to you. Trust me, even simple moves like I mentioned just now will make a huge difference if done consistently.

How do you want to look and feel a month from now? That decision starts today and it starts with you and what you’re willing to do. Don’t wait to make a change. Make today your Monday, your new day, your new week. Start today, stay strong, and finish strong and you will not regret it. I have never regretted a workout, but I have always regretted missing a workout. Stop regretting and start doing, it’s not that hard! Make a promise to yourself that you will become healthier. You owe it to yourself.

Today I worked out my back. In the pictures I posted earlier, I was very unhappy with the way my back looked, especially my lower back. So I kicked it into high gear today and ignored the soreness and exhaustion and just kept going. You will find my back workout under the “Workouts” category. I started my workout with 30 minutes cardio on the elliptical to get my heart rate up and burn some fat. It felt honestly great to feel sweat dripping and my shirt with sweat stains on it. It shows that I just put my all out there and really worked! If you walk out of the gym looking as good as you did when you walked in, then maybe you didn’t work that much. The gym is not a fashion show, you go in there you be a badass, and you sweat and you work and anyone who judges how you look when you’re walking out, just stare them in the eyes and be like “Yea, I did that, I did this. Look at my hard work!”

Foodwise I kept it simple today. It’s been a hectic week, not much time to cook creative new meals.

Breakfast: hard boiled egg, banana, water

Lunch: 1 cup sautéed veggies, 1 cup shredded chicken breast (I just like my chicken and veggies mixed together because I am a child basically.), banana, 1 cup grapes, water

Dinner: baked sweet potato “fries”, ground beef, 1 cup rice, water

Post-workout: banana, 20 blueberries (this doesn’t mean anything, this is just how many blueberries I had left.)

Get out there and work you guys! Have a good night!

  1. Your posts always give me motivation to push past the soreness of a workout and get my butt back in the gym to get the results I’ve been working for. Thank you!!
